I'd say look in the trendy health food shops. There has to be some, somewhere. Regular crepes will do the trick too.

Oh my God! Could this be real? Those buckwheat crepes - I just can't believe the deliciousness...Today is the first day of the rest of my search for buckwheat flour in Colombia. A mean feat but not impossible. :)

Isn't that interesting. Only yesterday I was thinking that the next evolutionary step for technology being able to get us in the same space simultaneously would have to be to transfer smell. Anyway, I gotta lotta cooking to do in this coming week. Keep checking.

Ha, yes we did take a pic! We only had Marco's phone camera though so not sure about the quality but I'll send it to you anyway. Do let us know when you're back in Florence!

You didn't take any pics of the insalata, did you? This place sounds interesting. My next dish should be taglionlini. Sadly I'm not sure if I can make it to Florence again very soon, but I'll keep you posted because we might swing past in April or May. A presto

This looks great! Thought of you and your blog last night while we were wandering around our neighbourhood looking for a late night dinner and came to La Maremma, which is a fairly new restaurant on via Verdi just down the road from Boccanegra towards Piazza Santa Croce. We had a really amazing meal, I had the insalata di carciofi for antipasto - veeeery tasty - and ravioloni with pecorino and cinnamon, Marco had an insalata di speck d'anatra and spelt tagliolini with black truffle. amazing. You should try this place next time you're in town!

I feel for you, not having artichokes easily at hand. They are beginning to sell quite cheaply here, but average is 10 for €4 in the main market where there is plenty of competition. As for the mozzarella, almost seems crazy to make it here when there are the finest mozzarella makers available. I,m going to see if I can find some buffalo milk and let you know when I do give it a try. Thanks for your visit too.
Ciao

what a fantastic blog idea! artichoke is divine, although unfortunately very expensive [and not too available] in my part of the U.S. -- you are blessed to have them so often. i'll definitely be trying some of these recipes. thanks for stopping by squirrel bread. let me know if you try the mozzarella. it really was delicious.

the photos of piazza santa croce are impressive. the cobblestone shot especially. i, too, love reflections, whether it be in wet pavement, mirrors, building windows, lakes, etc.

cheers,
